This is the shelf bracket unpainted. Two metal shelf brackets, one twisted. A screw is in that at the top. A matching hole is in the van sidewall top.
The bracket drops into it, placed once the wall is put up. Removed for travel.
The left bracket is shown, right hand one is a mirror image.
The thickness of the wood is to allow movement of the curtain behind the shelf.
The cutout at the top back, is to clear the curtain track.

I used wood and steel brackets, but someone who had and could bend steel, could make the whole bracket from one piece of steel.
